renowned & traditional lawyer firm jcm was due for a new website; the old one lacked tone, subjects were disconnected from one another and it didn’t highlight how the firm makes use of technology to aid them to do the best job in the market.

like a big network

jcm’s brand new portal connects areas of law with papers and news articles, and those two with their respective authors. all of the content is offered in english and portuguese.

typographic refinement

no changes in the logo or brand colour palette were made, although our offer to pick font families that are a better match with the approach of the company was accepted — the new font pair was serious and modern, both creations of the very talented lawyer-type-designer matthew butterick.

concourse, a typographic family with many weights, is mainly used in titles and in all caps; its letterforms feel like roman columns, but look like part of a 21st century typeface, with clean, sharp shapes.

century supra, the reinvention of the classic newspaper and print face, comes with multi-script support, small caps and all the required refinements a main typeface for a brand could have.
